The City Clerk, Douglas Barber, officially announced the certified candidates for the upcoming May 13, 2025, City of Westminster election:

Arbor Day Proclamation

Mayor Mona Becker declared April 21-27, 2025, as Arbor Week in Westminster, encouraging residents to plant trees and participate in city-wide sustainability efforts. The city’s annual tree planting and bug release event will take place on April 25, 2025.

Community & Economic Development Updates

Council members provided several important updates:

  • The Westminster Police Department is now fully staffed and new officers are beginning field training this month.

  • The city’s finance team is finalizing the annual budget, with details expected to be reviewed by the finance committee soon.

  • The 2025 Westminster Wine Stroll is scheduled for April 26, offering residents an opportunity to enjoy local wines and businesses.

  • Pickle in the Park, the city’s pickleball tournament, is set for May 31-June 1, marking the first tournament to be held on the newly resurfaced courts at City Park.

City Hall Repairs Near Completion

Repairs at 45 West Main Street (City Hall) are progressing well, with drywall and painting completed. Furniture is being moved back into offices, and full operations are expected to resume soon. The only remaining delay is the elevator repair, pending the arrival of replacement parts.

Public Works & Recreation Announcements

  • The Easter Bunny Trail & Egg Hunt will take place on April 12 at Wakefield Park.

  • Pool memberships are available at a 15% discount until March 31.

  • The Veterans Independence Project expansion is underway, with city officials attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
