After finishing unranked and with a record last season of 9-11, Westminster High School softball enters the 2025 season ranked eighth in the Baltimore Sun’s 2025 preview.
In the Sun preview, Mike Frainie writes, “After a few down seasons, the Owls look ready to compete for the title again in Carroll County. [Ashley] Harford, who coached the Owls from 2012 to 2016, will return as coach, and she has a good group to start off with. Senior center fielder Ryley Winebrunner, a Stevenson commit, will return and lead the offense. The Owls return all of their starting pitching, led by senior Mallory Johnson. Junior Libby Green will be counted on for her leadership. Harford’s goal is to reestablish the program as an area power, and she has a good foundation to do exactly that.”
The Owls face South Hagerstown on the road this Friday and play at home on Saturday at 11 a.m. versus Dulaney High School.
