The McDaniel College Theatre Arts Department is bringing the story of Elle Woods to the stage with its production of Legally Blonde: The Musical. The show will run from April 3 to April 5, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre at WMC Alumni Hall.

Directed by Tad Janes, this high-energy musical, based on Amanda Brown’s novel and the hit 2001 film, features music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin with a book by Heather Hach. Audiences will follow Elle Woods on her journey from fashion-focused sorority president to Harvard Law standout, as she learns that being true to oneself is the key to success.

The production promises catchy songs and plenty of humor as Elle navigates law school, challenges stereotypes, and discovers her own worth beyond romance. The show includes a live dog in the cast.

The Saturday, April 5 performance will feature sign language interpretation.
