Eight Carroll County educators have been named finalists for the 2025 Carroll County Teacher of the Year award. The winner will advance to represent Carroll County in the Maryland Teacher of the Year program.
The announcement was made at the 36th Annual Outstanding Teacher Awards, held on March 19, 2025, at Winters Mill High School. The event, organized by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Foundation in collaboration with Carroll County Public Schools, recognizes excellence in teaching.
The following teachers received Outstanding Teacher Awards and are now in the running for the county’s top teaching honor:
Leslie Bollinger – PreK-5 Mentor Teacher, Cranberry Station Elementary School
Jerome Georgiana – Physical Education Teacher, Crossroads Middle School
Amy Glascock – 5th Grade Teacher, Winfield Elementary School
Jennifer Goffena – Mathematics Resource Teacher, Shiloh Middle School
Kristy Groomes – 6th Grade Science Teacher, North Carroll Middle School
Todd Hartshorn – Social Studies Teacher, Manchester Valley High School
Margaret Mayberry – Social Studies Teacher, Winters Mill High School
Jami Robinson – ELA and Math Teacher, Runnymede Elementary School
Each finalist received a $500 award from the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to recognizing outstanding teachers, the Chamber Foundation awarded three $500 scholarships to educators pursuing further training and professional development:
Andrea Taylor – 1st Grade Teacher, Runnymede Elementary School
Kaetlin Wienholt – English Teacher, South Carroll High School
Victoria “Tori” Wolfe – Title I Resource Teacher, Cranberry Station Elementary School
The Outstanding Teacher Awards program, now in its 36th year, is a joint initiative of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Foundation and Carroll County Public Schools. It highlights educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching and dedication to their students.
Teachers in the Carroll County Public School System can be nominated by students, parents, teachers, and administrators. The program seeks to recognize those who make a significant impact in their schools and the broader community.
The announcement of the 2025 Carroll County Teacher of the Year is expected later this year.
